Just like our very first IRON series keyboard, the IRON165 SE, this limited release features a giant through-hole weight and a simple yet very effective full isolation gasket mounting system, but we've jettisoned the brass for a huge 2.75 lb stunning copper weight. At the same time we've dramatically reduced the compression on the plate between the gaskets. This makes the board a lot easier to build and leads to a "softer" typing experience.

While the clean lines and modern industrial aesthetic appear unchanged the IRON Alice represents the culmination of four years of improvements where we've continued to iterate upon this time-tested design. Put simply, we think the IRON Alice offers the best typing experience in the series yet.

While some might just see yet another IRON the Alice is anything but. Not only have we continued to iterate on our design, we have also worked tirelessly to improve upon our already stellar manufacturing and supply chain workflow.

A premium product has to start with the best, most uniform materials available to ensure the best, most uniform surface finishes and the richest color depth one can achieve. THE SHIFTED BASE OPTION - EXPLANATION

Halfway through the production run we noticed the internal channel that the daughterboard sits on was shifted slightly to the right. Naturally we corrected the mistake right away and production resumed with the IRON Alice exactly as we intended it to be, but now we had all these bases that look indistinguishable from the corrected bases from the outside.

While standard C3 daughterboards all USB-C cables worked, it didn't have that satisfying snap when installed.

So we thought outside of the box and created a new version of the C3 daughterboard that had some wiggle room when mounting and that satisfying USB-C "snap" came right back. To our surprise this also worked to improve USB-C fitment on other boards we had around the office from other companies! Not only were we able to save some beautiful Alice bases, but we were able to improve upon a universal and simple product that doesn't get much attention and is often overlooked. We will be using these new daughterboards on all of our new products going forward.

THE SHIFTED BASE OPTION - TLDR

The daughterboard channel is slightly shifted internally. Externally this base looks no different and functions no different than the "perfect" bases, but because it is shifted (internally) you get a discount on the board AND an extra daughterboard. You shouldn't need an extra, but we're including one anyway.
